Dear friends, brothers and sisters,
The religious community “Protection of the Holy Virgin Mary” Orthodox Church from Ghidighici (Chisinau), within the last 5 years, in addition to essential contribution to the moral and spiritual formation, is proud of developing and implementing several community outreach programs like: charitable and social support for orphan children, elder people and vulnerable families; educational and cultural events; environment protection initiatives.
We are happy for our achievements so far, however the space available within our old church is too small and inappropriate to host such activities and continuously growing number of children and people.
Our long-term goal is to build a community center, which will be named “Insula Fericirii” (The Island of Happiness) that would include:
- Social canteen
- Day Care center for children from vulnerable families
- Day Care center for unprivileged elderly
- Social bakery
- Social laundry
- Public library
- Conference room
- Classrooms
- Room for mothers with newborn children
- Painting school
- Historical and Archeological church museum
- Media Center (Radio, tv, publishing, typography).
Finally, your support and contribution in raising funds for pursuing this noble cause is deeply appreciated. Nevertheless, by helping us building this Center you will be providing a huge service to the children and people of our community.
